Brees Threw 6 TD vs. Lions
Saints Offense Doesn’t Skip A Beat
New Orleans Saints led the NFL in several offensive categories last year, including QB Drew Brees nearly breaking Dan Marino’s single season record for passing yards, and yesterday the Saints offense dropped 45 points on Detroit. Brees threw for 6 TD’s, and the offense gained over 500 yards of offense against the lowly Lions. Matthew Stafford made his debut for the Lions and struggled. He completed just above 43% of his passes, but this is part of the growing pains for starting a rookie QB. He made a couple good throws, hitting Calvin Johnson, on what Chris Cwik will argue until he’s blue in the face was touchdown but wasn’t, and Bryant Johnson on a nice out pattern. The Lions defensive woes continued, despite some turnovers, and Saints marched on to victory.
Falcons Fluster Miami
The Miami Dolphins prided themselves on not turning the ball over last year. The Dolphins had 13 turnovers in 16 regular season games last season. In their one postseason game vs. Baltimore, they had 5 and yesterday the Dolphins turned it over 4 times. Atlanta’s defense flustered Miami and the Falcons offense scored enough to lock up the win. Tony Gonzalez had a nice debut with 5 catches for 73 yards and a TD. Matty Ice played well for himself and the Burner didn’t do too much against the Dolphins Run D. From the Fantasy standpoint, high draft selections Roddy White and Ronnie Brown were non-factors.
Sanchez Wins Debut

Mark Sanchez Leads Jets To Victory.
Mark Sanchez played really a really solid game in his debut. He completed 58% of his passes, including hooking up with Chancey Stuckey for his first career TD on a 30 yard pass. Sanchez threw an Interception that was taken to the house, but that was the Texans only scoring. The Texans had several players drafted very highly in their offense including Andre Johnson, Steve Slaton, Owen Daniels and Matt Schuab. None of these players did ANYTHING for fantasy teams and left many owners frustrated. The Texans defense allowed over 450 yards of total offense, the biggest beneficiaries, outside of Sanchez, were Thomas Jones and Dustin Keller.
Cards Fold In Season Opener
Arizona played a decent game, but not good enough to win. Kurt Warner appeared to hurt his hand in the game and never seemed to get into a rhythm. He checked down way more than usual and Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin were non factors until late in the game. Tim Hightower had a huge game with 12 catches for 112 yards. The Cardinals had a shot to win the game, twice, but couldn’t do it. San Francisco didn’t play well by any means, but they committed only four penalties, compared to the 12 by Arizona. Frank Gore scored two touchdowns but didn’t do anything special on the ground averaging 1.4 ypc. The ball was spread around to six 49ers receivers with Isaac Bruce leading the way with 74 receiving yards. The 49ers defense made two defensive stops under four minutes to secure the game for San Francisco.

That was a TD man. Both Johnson and Braylon Edwards got screwed yesterday.
