Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell is stopped by Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Stylez White and safety Sabby Piscitelli.
Here is the latest update.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Through Week 4 | TDs | INTs | Comp Pct | Pass Yds | Rating | |
| JaMarcus Russell | 1 | 4 | 39.8% | 506 | 42.4 | |
| Jason Campbell | 5 | 2 | 65.3% | 963 | 85.5 | |
Well, this is getting out of hand and it is approaching a near impossibility I will win this bet, unless Jason Campbell gets benched. As a frame of reference, this past week JaMarcus Russell had his highest passer rating this season at 48.5.
The worst part of the whole situation is that the Raiders can’t even trust Russell to help them win games. Consider this: in the first quarter on Sunday these were the third down plays called by the Raiders:
- 3rd and 11: nine yard completion
- 3rd and 13: one yard rush
- 3rd and 15: eight yard completion
The Raiders were 2/15 on third down in the game yesterday and it’s not too shocking. It makes me wonder if they are considering other plans at Quarterback for the future. I don’t know how long they are going to stick with him, but it’s tough to watch him play.
As far as Campbell, his team won, he didn’t play great, but played better than Russell, despite turning the ball over four times. Campbell started to hear some boos in the 1st half, but stepped up in the 2nd half by throwing two 3rd Quarter Touchdowns that pushed the Redskins past the Bucs. Campbell actually showed some flashes in the second half with a couple of beautiful throws, but inconsistent play continues to plague his game.
So far this season, here seems to be the consensus…
Russell-can’t seem to make any type of play, isn’t trusted by coaches and shows no signs of getting better
Campbell-shown his ability to be a playmaker, but far too inconsistant to be considered a good QB.
Here is what Week 5 will look like for these two.
Washington@Carolina- Carolina is struggling this season on defense, ranking in the bottom 3rd of Football Outsiders defensive rankings, however Carolina is coming off a bye week and two weeks of planning for the Skins.
Oakland@New York Giants-this could get worse for Russell, if that’s possible. The Giants are looking really good on both sides of the ball this season and Oakland’s run-heavy attack could end quickly in this game, forcing Russell to pass more than the Raiders would like.
