Iced Stripes – Facing Off

Note: I’ve been entrenched in the hockey refereeing ranks for the past 12 years. I won’t claim to be an expert (Or even be any good), but I think I’ve got a pretty good understanding of the sport.  With the upcoming high school season, I’ll be discussing some of the finer points of the game here. Last night I learned a little tidbit, the way the NHL referees are dropping the puck for face-offs are different from previous seasons. In what may seem like an insignificant detail, it’s actually a pretty big deal.
