NFL Notes And Trends

Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels with quarterback Kyle Orton
Three weeks are in the books for the 2009 NFL season.
Here are some of my observations so far…
1. The 3 teams that fired offensive coordinators before the season started, Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Kansas City, are a combined 1-8. The 1 win was Buffalo beating Tampa Bay.
2. The Detroit Lions finally won a game, snapping their 19-game losing streak. Do you know who has the longest current streak? It’s St. Louis at 13-straight losses. With their schedule, they could easily lose 19 or more consecutive games.
3. Since 1990, when the NFL introduced a 12-team playoff format, only three teams that started 0-3 went on to make the playoffs: 1992 San Diego Chargers, 1998 Buffalo Bills and 1998 Detroit Lions.
0-3 so far this season…
*Titans
*Dolphins
Browns
Chiefs
Buccaneers
Rams
*Panthers
*Made playoffs in 2008
