“Leading Off” Returns… In Our Fifth Podcast

We got the band back together for this podcast

We got the band back together... similar to Dr. Funke's 100% Natural Good-Time Family Band Solution

For those of you clammering for a return of “Leading Off” heard at 8am in spring of 2006 on Marquette Radio you are in great luck.

Chris and Joe joined me for our 5th podcast, the first time we are all on-the-air together since then.

This week’s podcast that consisted of the following topics…

1. Chris Henry tragically dies.

2. If season ended now, who is your NFL MVP?

3. Bears’ Hester Tweets that there are/should be changes coming? Should Lovie go? Who replaces him?

4. Phillies get Halladay, M’s get Lee.

5. Pierre ends up on the South Side. Are we ok with this?

Tommie The Half Tank Engine

tommieI’ll admit that I have a bias, Tommie Harris has been my favorite Bears player since they drafted him in 2004 out of Oklahoma. I thought he was a complete steal at 14 and this was a guy who started every game at defensive tackle at Oklahoma his Freshman season. He was a complete head case for offenses the second he put on a Bears uniform, and, in my opinion, was the catalyst, not Brian Urlacher, for the Bears rise to the top of the defensive ranks in 2005 and 2006. I haven’t seen a lineman in the three-technique, blow up the line of scrimmage faster than Tommie did in his first three seasons.

Chicago Bears Defense Since 2005
With Tommie Harris 2005-2006 Seasons 2007-2008 Seasons
Games Played 28 30
Bears W-L 21-7 15-15
300+ yard games allowed 8 22
24+ points allowed 2 13
Turnover Ratio +15 +5
