Benson Entered 2009 With His NFL Career On The Line
The contrast between the beginning and the end of Cedric Benson’s 2008 season is incredibly interesting. Leading into 2008, Benson was arrested for a BWI (Boating While Intoxicated) which may have caused the Chicago Bears to select Matt Forte in the second round of the NFL draft. Benson, never the most popular player in the Bears locker room, was now fighting for his starting position at running back. Unfortunately for Benson, he was arrested and charged with a DUI in a separate incident just a few weeks later. On June 9th, before the season even started, the Bears released Benson. On September 30th, Benson signed a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. After initially beginning on the bench, Benson played his way into the Bengals’ line up and was a pleasant surprise for Cincinnati. In the final three games of the season, all wins for the Bengals, Benson gained over 100 total yards in each game. After the Bengals failed to sign Derrick Ward in the off-season, Benson was re-signed as the starting running back for the Cincinnati Bengals. Entering a critical season, can Benson prove that he can succeed at the NFL level?

Cadillac Returns From Multiple Injuries This Season
In 2004, Cadillac Williams helped lead the Auburn Tigers to a perfect 13-0 record and a number 2 ranking in the nation. Even in a timeshare with standout running back Ronnie Brown, Cadillac ran for over 1100 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. Cadillac ended his collegiate career as the all time leader in touchdowns and rushing attempts at Auburn, and finished with the second most rushing yards in school history. Cadillac impressed former Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden at the Senior Bowl, and was picked number 5 overall by the Buccaneers in the 2005 NFL Draft. Cadillac looked like the best back in what was thought to be a strong bunch, winning the Rookie of the Year award in his first year. Unfortunately, injuries have kept Cadillac from seeing the field. Williams, however, had a strong pre-season and beat out free agent import Derrick Ward to be the starting running back for the Bucs this season. Can the former ROY hold up and deliver entering a make or break season?
Players At A Crossroads: JaMarcus Russell

Russell Needs To Succeed This Season
JaMarcus Russell’s rise from fringe draft prospect to number one overall draft pick happened all within the span of a season. In 2009, he faces a similar situation. A chance to prove, once again, that he can succeed at the highest level. Russell’s NFL career has seen more lows than highs and he risks being labeled as one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history if he continues to struggle at the NFL level. With the Raiders releasing veteran Jeff Garcia, Russell will get every opportunity to show why he was the number one overall draft pick in 2007. With his NFL career possibly in the balance, can Russell perform in a crucial season?

Jason Campbell Enters A Critical Season
Jason Campbell enters 2009 at a career crossroad. After being selected with the 25th overall selection in the 2005 NFL Draft, Campbell was expected to provide stability at Washington’s quarterback position for years to come. Things have not gone smoothly for Campbell thus far in his NFL career. The Redskins were even rumored to be in the running for Jay Cutler and, when that fell through, Mark Sanchez. With Campbell in the last year of his contract, can he prove that he is the quarterback of the future in Washington?
