Relax TMQ (Tuesday Morning Quarterback)

He will prove he should have been the #1 WR taken in the 2009 NFL draft at season's end.
Good afternoon Gregg Easterbrook. You do not know me, and you have definitely written a numerous amount of sports articles in comparison to me, but today you wrote a piece that I had to double check if it was actually written by you. On the front page of ESPN.com, there is an article by you bashing the signing of rookie WR Michael Crabtree of the 49ers. You’re calling it a curse, “The Crabtree Curse haunts San Fran“. You point out that since the 49ers started out 3-1, they’ve since gone 0-4 and dropped to a 3-5 record after the Crabtree signing.
Listen Mr. Easterbrook, those first three wins came against the talented Cardinals, Seahawks, and Rams. Did we really think the 49ers were the real deal after beating those 3 teams? Since the Cardinals were the defending NFC champs, we gave them credit, but the other two wins aren’t credible. Read the rest of this entry »
NFL Notes and Trends…Week 4

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler throws during the second half against the Detroit Lions. He did something a Bears QB hasn't done in a long time Sunday.
- Jay Cutler passed for two touchdowns, ran for a third and became the first Bears quarterback since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 to post a passer rating of at least 100 in three straight games, according to the Chicago Bears. However, Pro-Football Reference.com claims Jim McMahon in 1984, had 3 straight games with 100+ passer rating. Cutler could be the first in Bears history to do so because Elias has game-by-game data that dates back to 1970.
- Browns Rookie Wide Receiver Mohammed Massaquoi had 8 catches for 148 yards vs. the Bengals yesterday. The rest of the Browns receivers had 18 catches for 121 yards. Braylon Edwards has 10 catches for 139 yards this season.
- Peyton Manning reached two milestones Sunday. Manning threw a TD pass to Reggie Wayne, the 55th time those two have connected for a TD. Manning joins Dan Marino as the only Quarterbacks to throw at least 55 TD to two separate receivers. Also, Peyton Manning ties Fran Tarkenton for 3rd most TD passes (342) of all-time.
